Short Bio
Josep Vilaseca has been working as a Practitioner since 1996 in several hospital and primary health care units. He's working as a Family Doctor in Barcelona at Consorci d'Atenció Primària de Salut Barcelona Esquerra between March 2002 and January 2022. Since February 2022 he is the chief of service of Primary Health Care in the Althaia Foundation (Manresa, Catalonia, Spain). He's been involved in several scientific organisations. From 2003 to 2007 he was the treasurer of the Spanish Society of Family Doctors (semFYC) He was elected Delegate, Executive Board at Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Barcelona in February 2014. After being a member of the Statutory Committee of Finance at WONCA Europe, he is the honorary treasurer of this organisation since the 26 of October 2016. His academic career starts in 2017 being appointed as an associated professor at the University of Barcelona and at the University of Vic-Central Catalonia University. He has been working also as a public health officer (2008 - 2010) and in the Innovation Plan for Primary Health Care (2010 - 2011). His main consultancy project (who can be disclosed) was carried out for the PAHO in 2019. His areas of interest are those related to Family Medicine, History of Medicine and medical humanities, and Health Care Services Management and Organization, focused in Primary Care and Integrated Care.
