At the European European General Practice (EGPRN), we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Who are we?

The EGPRN is a Non-Governmental Organisation with a not for profit status. Registered as a Foundation for the Dutch law, administered by the Chamber of Commerce of with the registration number 41125779.

The goal of the association is: To build a research capacity through this network in general practice and primary care in the WHO Region Europe. The focus of the activities of the association is confined to Europe, for which the definition of the World Health Organization is used; engaging in all other activities that are related to the above in the broadest sense of the term or that may conductive to the above.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you join or use our website.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, phone number, email address, country, job title, photo, invoice address, communication preference, and place of employment.

Your areas of speciality

We may also ask you to indicate your areas of speciality. This is for EGPRN information and interest only, and we may use it, for example, to invite you to serve on a scientific committee, become part of the abstract review board based on your areas of interest, or when submitting an abstract so we can classify it appropriately.

Surveys

We always aim to improve the services we offer. As a result, we occasionally canvass our customers using surveys. Participation in surveys is voluntary, and you are under no obligation to reply to any survey you might receive from us.

Payments

We do not handle payments and cannot store credit or debit card data. When you go to checkout, you will either be able to pay by invoice, or via an official authorised payment processing system, who specialize in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions (Docdata).

Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf

However, when we use third-party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes.

Your personal data is collected, stored and processed on a membership management system which was built, and is subsequently maintained and updated, by a, third-party processor. This is a secure, password-protected system, and the data is stored on servers located in the EU.

We may utilise other third-party service providers to enable us to collect, store or process your data. We choose these providers which we deem to be adequately secure and to perform their duties in compliance with European data protection regulations. In the instances where these providers are based outside of the EU, we ensure they meet requirements of European data protection regulations, such as having appropriate safeguards in place.

The accuracy of your information is important to us. We are working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information EGPRN holds about you. You are entitled to access anytime your personal information, and to rectify or remove them by contacting us at office@egprn.org

In case of a removal request, EGPRN commits to delete the personal information as promptly as possible and within a reasonable delay, giving you confirmation by email once the removal is completed.

Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely.

All data on our website is encrypted during the transfer between our servers and your browser with the best possible technology available to us. We strive to protect your personal information, however we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

We use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
