Professor Dr Mehmet Ungan ORCID iD: 0000-0002-6078-2177 Ankara University School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine e-mail- department: ungan@ankara.edu.tr e-mail-personal: mehmetungan@gmail.com Prof Ungan is the Past President of the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians in Europe. He is a Professor at Ankara University School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. He is the Past Chair of the European General Practice Research Network (EGPRN). Graduate of Istanbul University Cerrahpasa School of Medicine 1987. Postgraduate specialization and thesis is in Family Medicine 1993. He has been a founder and President of the Turkish Association of Family Physicians. Certified in the Trainers’ Course in University of Exeter Postgraduate Medical School, UK (1993), worked in Essen/Germany in internal medicine clinics. In 2002, became an Associate Professor in Family Medicine. He served as Deputy Medical Director of the METU University Medical Center for 18 years, and several times advisor of the Ministry on FM/GP. He is on the editorial boards of some indexed PC journals He was involved in organizing the WONCA Europe and its network Conferences in Turkey in 2003, 2008, and 2015. Founder of family practice in Ankara since 1999 and in Istanbul since 2013. He had training in TB in Global TB Institute, Newark, in Bangkok, and also in Atlanta held by CDC DGMQ. He is a board member of IPPA, European CDC, an observer in the European Medicine Agency. His research is in the field of Primary Care, Migrant Health, Mental Health (Burn-out), Patient Consultation, Clinical Medicine, Education, Prevention, International projects related to AIDS, Osteoporosis, European Research Agenda. Has more than 120 published papers, chapters in books. He is currently a mentor of 3 theses besides being a jury member for Professor title in Turkey and also in other countries in Europe but not only restricted in it.
