Short Bio

Clara Podmore is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Academic Primary Care Unit at the Institute of Family Medicine in Fribourg. After qualifying as a medical doctor, she specialized in General Internal Medicine and Epidemiology, training in Switzerland and UK. She earned her MD from the University of Lausanne in 2010 and pursued an MPhil and PhD in epidemiology, as a Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Fellow at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge. Clara also actively practices as a general practitioner and serves on various comities promoting research in primary care in Switzerland. Her current research interests are focused on complex issues in primary care, including advance care planning and cancer screening.
