The EGPRN organizes international research courses for general practice/primary care. These courses last one week, and are designed to promote knowledge about research methods amongst general practitioners. Since 1984, there have been courses in England, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Sweden, Malta, France and Poland. There is collaboration with the Brisbane International Initiative and the Flemish-Dutch Research Course for General Practitioners.
